#Coexistence with #leopards, respecting their space...

I've got many examples of where cameras have shown where I've been in close proximity of the big cat, this morning's check another example, sometimes within hours, sometimes within minutes. I'm based in a high leopard density area for good reason, the learning is constant on the path to improved coexistence.
I know I'm a pain in the ass to be in the jungle with :) Just don't talk ok, move quickly, quietly, do the job, respect all wildlife... minimal disturbance. A "team" of 1 or 2 is best although sometimes for safety and logistical reasons that has to vary. But it's very much about respecting wildlife space, letting animals do their thing, about the leopard being able operate in the way nature designed over a timeline of 3 and half million years, that way we can minimize conflict.
A lot going on at the moment. Someone once tried to calculate how many kilometres I walk in a year, they gave up because the hills and mountains complicate things but here on the Terai it's a matter of getting the daily tasks done quietly, focusing on the little clues that show leopard behaviour, always learning and then using that knowledge to implement. We can coexist...
